East of Central London, south of the Thames,
below the line of London City Airport lies the 76 acres of
land now known as the Royal Arsenal.
Shown in The A - Z as a void of disused land named 'West Thamesmead'
on the border of Woolwich Town Centre, the development is
easily reached by a number of means.
Gunnery Terrace is a converted warehouse building situated
on the corner of Arsenal Way and Duke of Wellington Avenue.
[By Road]
The A206 Plumstead Road runs adjacent to the Royal Arsenal
providing direct links to Canary Wharf and Central London
by way of either the Blackwall Tunnel or, the Woolwich Ferry
(accessed via Royal Docks to the north) which also grants
easy access to the A406 and A13. The A205/208 runs south from
Woolwich providing access to the A2 and M25.

The development is approximately 300 metres from Woolwich
Arsenal Station. From here high frequency rail services run
to London Bridge, Cannon Street and Charing Cross.
Access to Canary Wharf can easily be gained by taking the
train from Woolwich Arsenal Station and changing at Greenwich
for the DLR or, initially taking a bus from Plumstead Road,
to North Greenwich Station where the Jubilee line will take
you directly to your destination.
The planned DLR extension is due to open at Woolwich Arsenal
in 2008.
[By River]
Negotiations are in progress to extend the route currently
operated by Thames Clippers from The Savoy
in Westminister to Masthouse Terrace in Docklands, to include
the Royal Arsenal.
Such an extention is likely to provide direct access to North
Greenwich (The Dome) & Canary Wharf in as little as 15
minutes.
